As HYBRIDplus progresses towards the validation of its electrified thermal energy storage system<\/strong>, close coordination between partners is essential to ensure that the different components of the technology work together effectively. During the summer period, Ant\u00f3n L\u00f3pez Rom\u00e1n from the University of Seville (USE)<\/strong> spent time at the ODT\u00dc-G\u00dcNAM facilities in Ankara, T\u00fcrkiye<\/strong>, working closely with the GUNAM team on the development of the next thermal storage module for the HYBRIDplus pilot plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aligning the Thermal Storage and Electrification Systems<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The research stay focused on strengthening the collaboration between the two teams involved in the development of the storage system. GUNAM is developing the induction electrification system<\/strong>, while the University of Seville is working on the thermal configuration<\/strong> of the module.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bringing these activities together at this stage is important to ensure that the two technological components are fully aligned before their integration into the HYBRIDplus pilot plant at the University of Seville<\/strong>. The pilot plant is designed to validate advanced, high-temperature and electrified thermal energy storage solutions based on a cascade configuration of Phase Change Materials (PCM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the stay, the teams held several meetings and worked together on the technical aspects of the module. Particular attention was given to ensuring compatibility between the induction electrification system and the thermal configuration<\/strong>, helping the partners identify and address potential challenges before installation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration also included discussions and agreements on upcoming simulation and experimental campaigns<\/strong>.
